Last week, I was so happy to make it to the beach. Entrance Bay (Cultus), here I come!

Just the sight and smell of the lake is happiness for me. Though it kicks the heck out of me physically, due to may physical troubles, I made it!

After a "long" stroll to the water from the parking lot I was shocked to see the removal of the safety ropes and buoys that separate the drop off from the safe swim area. Say what?

Even I, a good swimmer, likes to know where the steep drop off is. I thought Chilliwack Parks were here to prevent drownings! What about the kids?

This was roped off since I was a kid, and I'm 63 now.

I also just had a canoe miss my head, swimming in another unroped area a few years back.

Cultus Lake, I love you but shame on you. Bring back the safety, so all the parents have a sense of security while their kids are at play. And hurry.

And while we are at it, please put in a step for the disabled at the bottom of the washroom brick path leading to the sand. That "giant" step downhill will take out anyone's hip.

Thank you. A lake lover for 60 years.
