LETTER: Chilliwack COVID clinic lineup system doesn’t make sense

‘Arranged like an X, with one path going into the test centre and the other path crossing into the vaccine centre’

Today I received my booster vaccine shot at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Chilliwack hospital. All the staff were doing a exemplary job.

The issue I would like to address is why do people have to walk through, literally through, the line-up of people waiting to be COVID tested in order to enter the vaccine area entrance?

I had to ask the attendant at the white tent, who was so kind and gracious, how to even find and enter the path into the entrance of the vaccine clinic.

It is arranged like an X, with one path going into the test centre and the other path crossing into the vaccine centre. Why are the test centre and the vaccine centre even located in the same physical area? There are so many facilities in Chilliwack that are standing unused that would be ideal for the vaccine centre, with lots of available parking.

This would then not funnel and congregate the COVID positive and the non-positive people in one space. Let alone adding to the congestion surrounding the hospital.

Completely unbelievable unless you see first hand the arrangements for entering each area.
