Kinder Morgan pipeline should be a top priority for Chilliwack voters

The environment we live in is the greatest asset we have, on an economical level, as part of our heritage, and as the key to our wellbeing and to a sustainable healthy future for generations to come.

The environment we live in is the greatest asset we have, on an economical level, as part of our heritage, and as the key to our wellbeing and to a sustainable healthy future for generations to come.

We cannot survive in an environment that is sick, depleted, ruined. Everything that affects our environment affects us deeply and intimately, whether we care to admit it or understand that.

When the federal and then provincial governments green-lighted Kinder Morgan they gave in to industry lobbying, and it seems that no one is standing up for B.C.’s greatest asset: our coasts. The provincial government has the power to stop Kinder Morgan, but only if we vote in elected officials who will put our communities and environment first. Protecting our land and waters from the Kinder Morgan pipeline and tanker project must be a top priority in the B.C. election.

I invite candidates of all parties to set out how they will work to protect us from Kinder Morgan if elected, and invite concerned citizens to vote not to tip the scale (in favour or against one party), but with their hearts, for a greener future.
