Cool enough to axe the Carbon Tax

Those who tax thrive when the public believe we are to blame for the problem.

In the midst of her rambling list of “strange” weather events of 2011 (Progress, Jan 10), Margaret Evans left off her usual claim that our life style is to blame. Her story does however, tell a tale of wrath and destruction that should strike fear into our hearts, and have us begging to be taxed at even higher rates for our implied eco-crimes.

The establishment hammered wage earners on Jan. 1st with a list of increases in a range of fees from Carbon Tax to ICBC rates. And, we haven’t heard from City Council yet on what Chilliwack’s yearly property tax increase will be. Those who tax thrive when the public believe we are to blame for the problem.

As the public wakes up to the scams of never-ending government fee increases, and never-ending financial mismanagement, people are starting to ask our public servants to handle our affairs more prudently.

We accept no more of guilt. No more fee increases.

And, since 2011 has been declared the coolest year since 1996 (Progress, 01/05/12), we can say goodbye to the fears of man-made global warming by axing the Carbon Tax.
