It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our son Zachary on August 5, 2008 at age 17.
Zac is lovingly remembered by his parents Jack and Michele; sisters: Ashley, Courtney, Mercedes, Liz; and girlfriend, “Ashley Gritner”; grandparents Henry and Loise Hobek, Gordon and Linda Pyle, Faye Prada, uncles, aunts, and cousins: Jim, Laura, Jakob, Calvin, Annette, Randy, Jordan, Melissa, Zoey, Kyle, Amy, Kristy, Mike, Devan, Kris, Danette, Charlee, and Brady.
Zac was and always will be the “the Best.” He was a devoted son, brother, and friend. An active member of the community and avid hockey player since the age of six. He always played Rep Hockey in the Chilliwack Minor League and in 2007 he was Rookie of the Year in Lacrosse for the Chilliwack Mustangs. This summer he was looking forward trying out for the Junior B Abbotsford Pilots.
We are so blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude, love, and support from our family, friends, and the community.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 7–9 p.m. from Henderson’s Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road. Burial to follow at the Vedderview Gardens Cemetery, 44675 Watson Road.
Reception will be held at the Chilliwack Alliance Church following the Burial.
Pall Bearers are Brad Gear, Andrew Commodore, Chris Kovac, Frank McGregor, Steve Oursov, and Devin Newton. Honorary Bearers: Dean Jimmie, Sean Beveridge, Jamie Charles, and Mike Spenser.
