Henke; R.G. Yvone. Yvone passed on peacefully on November 27, 2013, aged 83, at Valleyhaven Retirement Community in Chilliwack, BC. Robertha Geraldine Yvone was born July 31, 1030 in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba to parents Arthur and Eva Hammerquist who moved to the family to Chilliwack in October 1944. Yvone is survived by her sons Ivan and Brad, daughter Karen (Dwaine) as well as sister Thelma, Brother Len, sister in law Evelyn Henke and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Lawrence (Jim), brother Gerry and sister Lorraine. Upon retirement from Hughes Lang Group (Vancouver) in 1995, Yvone returned to Chilliwack. She appreciated the peace and quiet living in the Chilliwack River Valley tending to her garden and many rhododendrons. She greatly enjoyed her reading and crossword puzzles; at least until the Blue Jays' fame started. The family would like to thank the staff at Valleyhaven for the excellent efforts and caring attention provided for Yvone during her residence there. No memorial service will be held at her request. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
