Wink Theal passed away October 9th, 2004 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 88 years.
Wink was born in Chilliwack on February 29, 1916, the third of four children of feed merchant, Walter Theal and his wife, Elsie. His schooling was in Chilliwack. He was a keen sportsman, an excellent lacrosse player and kept an interest in sports all his life. He was a member of the Chilliwack Golf Club, Chilliwack Curling Club, Past President of the Kinsmen Club and a member of K40.
Wink married Vera Sinclair Purvis in Chilliwack on October 8th, 1941. He is survived by his wife, his sister Doris Proudlock of Parksville and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Patrick and sister Francis “Frankie” Koehler.
Wink worked many years for Chilliwack Freight Lines, managed the Chilliwack Curling Club and was camp accountant for Canfor at Spring Creek Logging until his retirement.

Wink was interested in people he encountered and had a kind and grateful attitude. He will be missed and fondly remembered by Vera, his wife of 63 years and his dear friends and their children for whom he set a wonderful example. He loved life and was a true gentleman.
