Wilmer Norbert lapoint

November 15, 2006

Wilmer Norbert Lapoint (Bill), aged 81, passed peacefully into his Lord and Saviours’ loving embrace, on Wednesday, November 15th, 2006. He was born October 24th, 1925 in Essex County, Ontario, and moved to Chilliwack in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Terry Lapoint. He has 3 daughters, Lynda, Brenda and Penny, 1 step-daughter, Penny Darlene Toone, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Still living in Ontario are his 2 sisters, Marlene and Doris and his youngest brother Harold. Seven brothers and 2 sisters predeceased him.

Bill was a wonderful devoted father and husband, a kind friend to many, who lived a life of selflessness. He was sweet, loving, giving, encouraging and inspired many. He is surely remembered as such by all, including co-workers from Housekeeping and staff at the Chilliwack General Hospital, where he retired from at age 65.

Dad loved being with family. He also enjoyed fishing, was once a member of the Chilliwack Fish & Game Club, and a champion league bowler.

He was a peacemaker and lived a life of service to others. He served 3 years in the Canadian Air Force. Bill will be sadly missed by many, but loved and remembered in our hearts eternally.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 24, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, BC. Pastor Elmer Martin officiating.
