Oct.10, 1939 – Aug. 5, 2010

Bill passed away at home in the early morning on August 5th, 2010 with his loving wife Brigitte at his side.

He is survived by his brother Gary McIntyre (and family in Winnipeg), his son Daniel (and wife Debra) McIntyre, his daughters, Angela and Tina McIntyre and grandsons Duncan McIntyre and Danyon Fox. He will be sadly missed.

Born and raised in Grandview Manitoba before joining the military in 1955,proudly serving his country for 39 years and retired as a Major in 1994. He met Brigitte while stationed in Germany and they married in Soest in 1964. They returned to Calgary in 1965 with their young son Daniel. Angela came along in 1967 followed by Tina in 1971 after relocating to Edmonton. More travelling followed with a tour of Churchill Manitoba, back to Germany for several years in the 80’s before returning to Calgary again. Then on to Winnipeg, Ottawa, Vancouver and finally retiring and settling down in Chilliwack. Bill fought and overcame two courageous battles with cancer, managed the last several years with Parkinson’s and hardly missed a beat while continuing to enjoy golfing and fishing whenever he could. Finally the old ticker started to pack it in over the last few months. He spent his last days happy and energetic however, after having some reinvigorating and temporarily successful coronary surgery.

Donations in Bill’s honour to Parkinson Society Canada (www.parkinson.ca) would be greatly appreciated.

Memorial service will be held at 1400hrs on Monday August, 9th, 2010 at the Chilliwack Evangelical Missionary Church, 9310 Williams Street.
