William Leonard (Bill) HARDER

March 26, 1918 - November 9, 2006

Bill passed away into the presence of his Lord at Chilliwack General Hospital on November 9, 2006. He was born in Lost River, Saskatchewan and grew up on the Prairies.

Bill left school in grade eight to work with his father in his blacksmith shop in Winkler, Manitoba and came to B.C. during the Second World War to work in forestry camps on Vancouver Island.

Later he returned to Manitoba, courted and married Lorraine then moved back to B.C. in 1950.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lorraine, son Clifford Harder (Donna), daughter Cyndy Baerg (Ran­dy), grandchildren Paul Harder (Polina), Geoff Harder (Aman­da), Stephanie Baerg, great-grandchild Sophia, brother George Harder(Marge), and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed very much by all.

A celebration to honour his life and express his family’s thanks for the legacy he has left us was held on November 13, 2006 at The Church of the Nazarene in Chilliwack, B.C.
