Dec 13, 1934 – Mar 6, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.
Bill passed peacefully at Gillis House in Merritt, BC surrounded by the family he so dearly loved.
He spent his working years on the highways and logging roads of his adopted province as the owner of Kel-Gor trucking – earning much respect and building a reputation as an honest, hardworking and reliable man. Generous and kind hearted, he was always willing to go the extra mile, haul the extra load and lend a hand wherever he was needed.
There was nothing he loved more than being out in the bush, and he spent many happy years with his wife Vicky at their home in Brookmere. He enjoyed the outdoors and a good day’s work, maintaining his pride and joy – the house and yard – and gathering all of his own firewood well into his 80th year.
He will be greatly missed by 7 children, 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
There will be no funeral, as per his wishes, with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Gillis House in Merritt, whose staff were exceptional during our difficult time.
