With great sadness we announce the death of William Thacker, born in Mission, BC, January 20, 1984. William died in Whitecourt, Alberta, Wednesday, May 27, 2009, doing what he loved and rejoicing in his creator’s fresh air.
William was a loving son, brother and friend. He is predeceased by his sister Pam and his paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Herbert. He is survived by his mother Julie (Victoria), father George (Chilliwack) and sister Valerie (Ottawa), maternal grandparents: Ernie and Evelyn Anweiler (Nanaimo), and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
William is remembered as an outstanding Sea Cadet in Prince George, an enthusiastic student at Selkirk College in Castlegar, and as a member of many groups in Victoria including Island Riders, VCKC, Commissionaires and VFGPA.
Wherever he lived, William participated in life wholeheartedly.
In addition to formal groups, he enjoyed creating art, communing with nature, talking with and helping whoever was around him.
Memorial service was held at Cadboro Bay United Church, 2625 Arbutus Rd., Victoria, BC on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Internment service was held at Carman Cemetery on Promontory Road in Chilliwack, BC on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2 p.m.
