It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Dale Leguerrier. Dale is survived by his three children: Markus (Samantha) Jacobson, Mason Leguerrier, Katrina Leguerrier, granddaughter Annika, mother Margaret, brothers Jim (Barb), Maurice and sister Julie (Kurt). He is predeceased by his father Maurice.
Dale was born in Abbotsford and resided in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack for most of his life. He worked in the carpet industry. He loved fishing, golf and bowling. Dale loved to travel, and in the last three years of his life he could often be found at his son Markus’ house in 100 Mile House, sitting in a boat on the lake.
During the last three years he was battling stage 4 colon cancer and spent his final four months at the Holmberg Hospice in Abbotsford (next door to the hospital). Most of his time there was spent painting rocks in support of the amazing doctors and nurses working through the pandemic and placing them in the parking lot to show his appreciation.
We’d like to thank all the staff at the Holmberg House for their compassion, their love, and support during his stay. Everyone there made a huge impact with the amazing level of care he received. We will forever appreciate you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to COVID-19. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Abbotsford Hospice Society.
