William Young passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 77 years.
William was born in Regina, SK, to William Hunter Young and Catherine Anne (Stansfield) Young.
He graduated from Scott Collegiate in Regina. In 1956, he married Margaret “Peggy” Maguire.
He worked as a regional sales manager in the construction materials business for more than 23 years. He enjoyed sports, reading, building, traveling and camping. He coached community league football for many years, including a provincial championship team. But most importantly, family came first. His special family name was “Mugger”.
William will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cathy (Udell) Shaw, and Brenda Leippi (Bert Anglehart); his grandchildren, Brian (Karen) and Dennis Leippi, Jamie, Marshall, Erin, Stephen and Tyler Shaw; great grandchildren Emily and Jacob Leippi. He is also survived by his brothers, Kel (Jane) and Ian Young; sister, Val (Wayne) Furber and sister in law, Sharon Kettunen. Sadly predeceased by his wife, Margaret and son, Stephen.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on February 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack BC.
