Also left to mourn are many family and friends in BC, Alberta and Ontario. Bill was born in York, Ontario, and grew up in the Lions Head area of the province. During WWII, Bill proudly fought for his country in Italy and France. After the war, Bill trained to become a mechanic, and upon completion moved to BC. He married Helen in 1948 and built their home in North Vancouver. There, they started their family, and he worked for Slade and Stewart until he retired after 27 years in their employment as a heavy duty mechanic. Bill and Kay were married in 1985 in North Vancouver, and moved to Chilliwack in 1994. The newly retired couple enjoyed many trips together, camping their way across Canada as well as travelling to Australia, Alaska and Costa Rica. They also enjoyed many cruises including the Panama Canal. The family wishes to thank all of our family and friends for their love and support over the years and especially these past few months. We’d also like to thank Dr. H. Bright and Dr. Nagdee for their care and also Worthington Rehab Pavilion in Abbotsford. A very special thank you goes to the staff of the “Rosedale” at Heritage Village. Your caring and compassion has been greatly appreciated. Our thanks to all of you. In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, kindly make a donation in Bill’s name to the CNIB. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at 2:30pm at Chilliwack Baptist Church 46336 First Avenue, Chilliwack
