It is with deep sorrow that the family wishes to announce the passing of William (Bill) James Willetts on July 26, 2002 at the age of 62.
Bill was born in Lethbridge, Alta. on August 9, 1939. He married Alice Elfring in 1963, and they lived and worked in several small communities in southern Alberta before settling in Chilliwack in 1981.
Bill was trained as an automotive mechanic and was the automotive service manager at the Sardis K-Mart from 1982 until his retirement in 1998. After retiring, Bill was able to devote himself full-time to his three favourite hobbies, woodworking, gardening and fishing.
Bill is survived by his wife Alice; two sons, Shawn (Kory), and Bill; daughter Shannon; three granddaughters, Tara, Addy and Cassidy; sister Darlene (Jim) Rowley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father William; mother Edna; and sister Jeanette.
Prayers were said on Monday, July 29, 2002 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chilliwack. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on July 30, 2002 at St. Mary’s Church, Father Gary Gordon, Celebrant.
Bill was generous in spirit, thoughtful in deed, and loyal in his love and friendship. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.
