William BARNETT

October 11, 2013

William Thomas Barnett. 1950 - 2013. With heavy hearts, the family of William (Bill) Thomas Barnett announces his passing while at Kelowna General Hospital on October 11, 2013, at the age of 63. His passing was as gentle as possible. Bill was born May 12, 1950 in Montreal, Quebec to Thomas William and Emily (nee Skinner). Bill always loved hockey and a good debate, or ideally a good debate about hockey. Without question, family was what mattered most to Bill. Bill was a son, husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was intelligent, kind, witty, funny, generous, thoughtful and stubborn. He blessed us with ten extra years of his life after suffering major health complications and many medical miracles. He will be forever missed.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Still here to honour his memory are his wife of 38 years Gerre; his son James Barnett (Diana), granddaughters Sienna and Aiyana and their mother Tracey; his daughter Nicole Pallone (Dino) and granddaughters Rosie and Carmella; sister Elizabeth Hawthorne; brother-in-law Bob Boesch; nephew John Hawthorne (Heather) and children Joshua, Hannah and Emma; niece Karen Manke (Renato) and children Ryan, Kyle and Kurtis. He will also be sorely missed by his brother Wayne Chin (Nancy) and niece Ciara, and unofficially adopted daughter Rebecca Sherman (Kevin) and nephew Matthew MacKenzie. If you would like to make a donation in Bill's memory in lieu of flowers, Canadian PKU and Allied Disorders Inc. (www.canpku.org) is a non-profit organization that Bill supported with many donations and volunteer hours after his granddaughter's diagnosis of PKU.

A celebration of memories will be held on November 10, 2013 in Cranbrook, BC, at St. Eugene's Golf Resort & Casino from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with refreshments provided. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
