Willi Neels passed away peacefully February 7, 2010 at Heritage Village Care Home, at the age of 68.
Willi was born in Neumünster, Germany and came to Canada via Winnipeg in the late 1950‘s. He was a respected businessman in Chilliwack for over 30 years with the success of The Beauty House hair salon on Wellington Avenue that he built with his wife, Renee (Neels) Battaglio. He also spent much, if not most, of his time and energy on his rural property on which he endeavoured many different ventures; from cattle to crop to a storage facility and many more.
He has two daughters, Sabine and Tania, and four grandchildren, Haley, Jayda, Dario and Tania, who remember him fondly as Opa Neels, who had an often crusty but irresistible charm that made us love him.
While his health sadly deteriorated later in life, he has had many marvellous and remarkable experiences and accomplishments. He is now at rest, and at peace, and his extensive faction of family and friends have wonderful memories of good times shared, laughter and love.
