Willem van Gameren passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 65 years, after a long battle with ALS. He was born June 4, 1937 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1984. Willem is survived by his wife Elizabeth (nee Verhage); children, Marry and Kees (Kardux), Erna, Gerdina, Jan-Willem, and Esther (Neels), and Grietha; 11 grandchildren; and seven siblings in The Netherlands. He was predeceased by his parents, Jan and Margretha van Gameren. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 12, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Chilliwack. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 10 a.m., from the Reformed Congregation in North America; Elder S. van den Brink officiating.
