Wilhelmina (Minnie) OHLHAUSEN

July 4, 2007

Minnie Ohlhausen, late of Chilliwack, passed away on July 4, 2007.

She was born in Romania on February 4, 1915.

She is survived by her husband, Otto; son, Gary (Debbie); grandchildren: Katie Ohlhausen, Jen (Kevin) Hooge; and great-grandson Owen.

Minnie and Otto were married in Chilliwack on Oct. 2, 1936. They enjoyed 70 years of married life on the family farm on Lickman Road.

Over the years Minnie was an active member of the Atchelitz Women’s Institute and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and then sharing the bounty. She always had a cheerful spirit and found such joy in life. Her love for family and friends was obvious to all who received her kindness. So many who have gone on before in the faith she undoubtedly is rejoicing in seeing them once again. Her faith in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ was a virtual reality for Minnie.

The family would like to give our warmest thank you to the staff at the Waverly who so enhanced the quality of life for Minnie in the last few months. The care, love and respect given to her over the last days was extraordinary and much appreciated.

There will be a tea held in Minnie’s honour on Monday, June 9th, 2007, at 1:00 pm in the tearoom of Henderson’s Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.
