Wilfred John Gordon (Bill) Pennie

April 18, 1916 – January 6, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a truly remarkable man. Wilfred (Bill) Pennie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland however moved to Boston Bar at the age of 8. He was predeceased by his loving and caring wife of 60 years, Helen Pennie and his sister Gladys Gilbert.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his son Norman Pennie, daughter Sheila Noer, granddaughter Versity (Clint) Woollcott, grandson Randy (Christa) Noer, and four great-grandchildren: Cole, Dakota, Hannah and Riley.

Bill was a dedicated, compassionate family man whose smile could light up a room. His hard work and perseverance was shown through a lengthy career both with CN Rail and Harrington Motors. After his retirement he also enjoyed going to many auto swap meets with his son Norman Pennie and seeing the sights of the country. His passions for life were definitely hockey (Vancouver Canucks), travelling, photography, fishing, gardening and going to Skagit Speedway with his grandson Randy Noer.

The family would truly like to thank and acknowledge the caring and compassionate nursing and support staff at Cascade Lodge who made his last few years wonderful and also to Dr. A. Bartel for his continuous care and support. In lieu of a service the family will be holding a tea in his honour Saturday, January 22, from 2-4 pm at 35075 Delair Road, Abbotsford, BC.
