Wayne Richard Schindle

Schindle, Wayne Richard passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. He was born, the third of six children, on October 17, 1944 in Vancouver, BC. He lived in Chilliwack for 58 of his 62 years (since 1949).

Wayne worked as a truck driver hauling mobile homes, first for his father’s business, then for many years at Cross Country. He enjoyed attending Chilliwack Chiefs and Bruins hockey games and spending time with his grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his children Angela, Curtis (Crystal), and Tony; his grandchildren Tyler, Dylan, Austin, Ethan, Lance, and Desiree; his brothers Dave and Jim (Marie); his sister Joan; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Thelma and Wally, his sister Merla, and his brother Ray.

Wayne will always be remembered for his jolly personality, his great smile, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Wayne’s family would like to thank the staff at the Chilliwack General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack on Saturday, February 24th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
