Wayne Nikirk, late of Chilliwack, formerly of 100 Mile House, passed away in the presence of the Lord on August 13, 2004 at the age of 66 years. He was born in Maidstone, Sask. on October 22, 1937 and grew up on Vancouver Island.
Wayne served in the RCAF for 10 years. He later became a certified welder and worked at Bethlehem Copper. He retired from Ainsworth sawmill in 100 Mile House after 21 years.
His father John and mother Bernice predeceased Wayne.
He leaves to cherish his memory his second wife Mae; daughters, Michelle and Kelly (Daryl); sons, Troy (Michele) and David; brothers, Gordon, Bill (Rona), Lorne (Phyllis), Allen (Mina); sisters, Julia, Mary Anne (Kim); stepson, Ken (Lynn) Sherburne; 8 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.
A Visitation will be held on August 20, 2004 from 7-9 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, BC.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Chapel on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at 2 pm. A Tea will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of BC in Wayne’s name.
