Waltraut BIER

January 4, 2006

With angelic peace Waltraut “Wally” Bier went home to heaven on January 4, 2006.

Born August 30, 1940 in the village of Broklen of Schruben, East Prussia, Germany; Waltraut became a landed immigrant in Canada on March 23, 1954. After a short time in Diamond City, Alberta, her family moved to the Valley and made Chilliwack their home. Attending Christ Lutheran Church, she was confirmed with, met and married her husband John on April 21, 1961; and was predeceased by him in May 2005. An active partner with her husband in their business ventures, most of her working years was spent with John and her children.

A woman of steadfast faith, standing strong in her Lutheran teachings, she was pro-active in raising her family within her church family. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Women, taught Sunday school, and assisted with many church functions.

Her love for her family was often shared with loving stitches through her love of sewing, and she also shared this blessing with the church whenever possible.

Her love lives on in those she leaves behind; sister Alice Jenne, daughter Carrol Warkentin, (Ken), grandsons Lyle (Melinda), Neil (Nicole), granddaughter Christel, and great granddaughters Madeleine & Bridgette; son Carl Bier (Heather) grandsons Brandon, Terence, Broderick & Lance, and daughter Audrey Bier, and granddaughter Randylyn Klassen.

Donations in Memory of our Mother and Oma can be made to Hungry for Life of Mountain Top Ministries.

Celebration of Life service will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8871 School Street on Saturday, January 7, 2006 @ 10:30am.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22
