Walter Murray HAYWARD

Walter Murray Hayward passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 75 years. He was born on March 25, 1929 in Estevan, SK.

Wally is survived by his wife, Shirley of Chilliwack, BC; son, Kendell; daughter-in-law, Sandra and grandson, Terry, all of Winnipeg, MB.

His son, Murray Bernard and his parents, Murray Forrest and Esabel May Hayward, predeceased him.

Wally spent 30 years serving his country with the Royal Canadian Engineers, in places like Germany, Tanzania, and England. Following that, he worked in the penitentiary system for 11 years.

During his retirement, he was very involved at Mount Shannon United Church with the day to day operations, maintenance and the church government. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 1:30 pm from the Mount Shannon United Church, 46875 Yale Rd. Chilliwack, BC with the Reverend Arthur Henderson officiating. A private family interment will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcome.
