April 5, 1924 - March 24, 2013

Wally passed away in Chilliwack on March 24, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Zetland, Alberta on April 5, 1924. He is survived by his son Lorne(Linda), their children Mike and Paul, great grandchildren Michelle, Amber, and Jaymee, great great grandson, Leo; daughter Yvette, his sister Florence(Jack) Dickinson, also several nieces and nephews. Wally was predeceased by his wife Anita of 61 years of marriage.

The family moved from Ontario to Agassiz and later to Chilliwack. Many will recall him as their barber. A retired Veteran, who was active as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, in Agassiz. Wally was an avid fisherman and often accompanied by his wife, spent many summer weekends camping and fishing various lakes in southern BC.

Wally loved music and was an accomplished violinist. In his younger years he played in several bands. Later on when he was no longer able to play the violin, Wally enjoyed symphonies, and musical productions.

Always a gentleman, Wally was a quiet reserved man, kind and generous. He loved the Lord and a faithful attendant at daily Mass at St.Mary’s . He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, great great grandfather, and had many friends, who will miss him including Lucy, a very special friend.

Funeral Mass will be held from St.Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 8909 Mary St. Chilliwack on Wednesday, April 3 at 11;00 A.M. Followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation. Burial of Urn to follow at a later date.
