Vance, Viola Velma. September 5, 1938 -
September 5, 2013. With her family at her side, Viola passed away peacefully Thursday September 5th. She is survived by her husband of 54 years (Mervin), daughter Michele, son-in-law William and her beloved grandson Nathaniel. Born and raised in Chilliwack she lived
in Edmonton over the past 46 years.
Vi was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas & Helen Hiebert, sisters Georgina (Gelinas), Margaret (Johnson) and brother Barry - all of BC. Viola is survived by her sisters Adella
(William Kennedy), Sheila (Rottluff) Maxine (McClelland), sister-in -law Donna and numerous nieces and nephews in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Viola loved to travel and did so extensively with Mervin in the 70's, 80's, 90's and since. Viola was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She will be missed terribly. Our family's deep thanks goes to the capable, caring nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit of the Misericordia Hospital. As Viola wanted, cremation has taken place and no funeral or memorial service will be held. Should anyone wish, donations in her name can be made to a charity of choice.
