Vincent Steve Jarvis died suddenly on November 9, 2011 at his home in Chilliwack, BC. Vince was born 1955 in Calgary, AB and shortly after his birth his family moved to BC and in 1957 settled in Rosedale. Vince graduated from Chilliwack Senior High School in 1973, and after graduation he worked for CPR for two summers, attended Langara College for a year then worked as a prison guard at the BC Penitentiary and Mountain Prison until Dec. 1980. He married his wife Sharron Pitman in 1978 and in January 1981 decided to change careers, from a prison guard to a Heavy Duty Mechanic. This trade took him and family to several places across the country. In 1989 Vince returned to Chilliwack and remained there until his passing. Vince had been attending Fraser Valley College and this was important to him as he met many people he enjoyed conversing with and it also engaged him in something he was passionate about, the love of learning. He fondly thought of his friends who live in his apartment building as family.

He will be greatly missed by surviving family, Mother, Claire [Sardis]; Sisters, Kelly (Bob) Perras [Edmonton] & Maureen (Kevin) Reynolds [Okotoks]; Brother Ainsley (Maria) [Rosedale]; Wife, Sharron [Chilliwack]; Daughter, Samantha (Trevor) [Mission]; Son, Matthew [Chilliwack]; Grandson, Gavin [Mission]; and many nieces and nephews [Rosedale, Langley, Delta, Edmonton and Okotoks].

A memorial service was held by family and close friends on November 16, 2011. The family would like to thank all those who expressed condolences and for the support during this sad time.
