February 16, 1936 – October 17, 2017
After surviving serious health issues for the last few years and rallying in between illnesses, Vic with his positive attitude and determination had beaten the odds, until his latest battle.
Vic was born in Foam Lake, SK and as a baby moved to Yarrow, BC. At 16 he started work with Fleck Brothers in Vancouver as a safety salesman and worked his way to management. His entire 44 year career was with Flecks/Guillevin in Cranbrook, Calgary and then Burnaby.
After retirement he moved to a farm NW of Calgary where he and his pets thrived. He became active with the Madden Lions Club serving as Treasurer and President. From there Vic returned to Chilliwack, met new friends and reconnected with family. Vic loved to golf and enjoyed travelling.
Vic is survived by Betty Dyck (Nick); Peter Wall (Thelma), close friend Keren Farquharson and nieces and nephews.
Vic was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers & sister-in-law.
A memorial service will be at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack on October 26, 2017 at 11 am with light lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers Vic has requested donations be made to the Madden Lions Club.
