Victor Penner of Hope, BC, passed away at the age of 73 on Good Friday, March 21, 2008 at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.
Vic was born in and proud to be from Gem, Alberta.
He moved to Chilliwack with his family, worked many different jobs then moved to Calgary in the 60’s. He had a long career with Westcoast Transmission, which took him to many areas of BC. He eventually settled in Hope, BC where he lived until his passing.
Vic is predeceased by his wife, Marilyn, his parents, Henry and Katherine, brothers Al, Hank and Verne, sister Helen (Ketler) and brother-in-law Bill Ketler.
He is survived by daughter Gail (McKernan); grandaughter, Kimberly; brothers: Pete (Iris) and Walt (Meg); sisters-in-law: Cathy and Pat; many nephews, nieces, stepchildren Dawn and Rory, and special friends.
We’ll miss seeing him drive around town, going for “hot cakes” at Rolly’s, and his independent spirit. There will never ever be another Vic Penner. We are lucky to have known him.
Special thanks are extended to the ICU/CCU staff at Royal Columbian Hospital and Murakami Clinic.
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
