July 11, 1925-December 2, 2004
It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Victor Dyck, husband to Caryll; father to Lois, John, and Linda (Art); grandfather to Jeff, Kristy (Stephen), and Michael; brother to Ed (Dorothy), John (Florence), and Walter (Margaret); friend and colleague to many.
He was predeceased by brothers, Dave and Harold.
Vic was a dedicated and well respected physician who practiced medicine for 52 years, the past 32 years in Armstrong and Vernon. He loved his profession, continuing to work part-time past retirement and up until the time of his death.
Vic had a natural curiosity and took a keen interest in everything around him. His grandchildren will remember walks where every tree and flowers was closely examined! He was an avid reader and music lover.
Vic’s lifetime of learning led to a very full and active life that included hog farming, raising quarter horses, flying, golfing, skiing, and winemaking - but he didn’t cook! Trips with Caryll to California for sun, biking, hiking, and enjoyment of the natural desert beauty became an annual winter refuge.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Church. Flowers gratefully declined.
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we
once shared
Miss me - but let me go.
Arrangements are in the care of Personal Alternative Funeral Service.
