Verna Ella Anderson (nee Martinow)

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we share the passing of Verna Ella Anderson (nee Martinow) on July 15, 2024. Verna died following complications from recent surgery at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster BC.

Verna was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

She is survived by Marvin, her loving husband and best friend of 45 years, daughter Kathryn (Dean), son-in-law Grant, granddaughter Natasha (Sean), grandsons James (Lexy) and Jaeden (Charlie), great grandchildren Karina, Jeremy, Matthew, Violet, and Casey, brother Victor (Lucy), and many nieces and nephews.

Verna was preceded in death by her daughter Gail, mother Lydia, sister Bernita, and brother Wilson.

Verna also leaves behind family puppies Tux, Ginger, and Toby who will miss her love and treats.

As we walk this journey of grief from the loss of Verna in our lives, we are grateful for the many beautiful gifts of love and kindness she left with us over the years. We take comfort knowing that her spirit now soars with the spirits of her daughter Gail, and her mom, sister, and brother in heaven. Forever in our hearts. We love you dearly.

Special thank you to family physician Dr. Cameron Ross for his thoughtful care, and the many nurses and physicians who cared for her at Royal Columbian hospital.

A funeral service will be held on July 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles Street, Chilliwack, BC. Luncheon to follow at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel in the Fraser Room - 45920 First Ave, Chilliwack, BC.
