On January 18, 2003 the angels decided to take one of their chosen ones. Valerie Froese passed away peacefully during the morning hours of a clear winter night surrounded by the warmth and love of family members. Valerie courageously fought a battle with cancer that despite her spirit, determination, and desire to overcome, was eventually too much for her.
Valerie is missed and loved by too many people to list, however, it includes her husband, Frank Froese; her sister Diane (Tom) Sale; her children, Wes (Debbie) Shields, Terry Shields, Jeff (Sherri) Shields, Sharon (Ken) Munro, Eric (Debbie) Froese, Linda (Ray) Kouwenhoven, and Frank Froese Jr.; as well as her pride and joy, 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and Callum, her four-legged companion.
She is predeceased by her son, Philip Shields.
A service to celebrate the life of Valerie Froese will be held at the St. Thomas Anglican Church at 46048 Gore Ave., Chilliwack on January 23, 2003 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Charlie Lenz. A reception to share in the memories of Valerie Froese will follow after the service at the church hall.
