Tina (Tiena) Riediger

September 15, 1927 - June 27, 2024

Tina (Tiena) Riediger passed away peacefully in the presence of her Lord and Saviour on June 27, 2024, at the age of 96. Tiena was born in Blumenort, Sask., on Sept 15, 1927, to Aron & Justina Riediger and was the 5th of 9 children. In 1945 the family moved to BC and settled in Rosedale.

Tiena earned a Bachelor of Education degree and taught primary grades in Elementary Schools in McBride, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Rosedale for a total of 37 years. She enjoyed traveling during the summer months while teaching, visiting Eastern Canada, Alaska, Europe, British Isles and conference centers like the Firs and Cannon Beach. After retirement, she worked for the Red Cross for a few years.

Tiena accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized during her teen years. She taught Sunday School and worked in the church library for many years at Central Community Church. She also supported many Christian organizations with her faithful giving.

Tiena spent countless hours knitting afghans, which she freely gave to siblings, nieces, and nephews. She and Mary also made raspberry and grape juice every year for each family unit. All of this was very much appreciated. Tiena also enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles.

Tiena was predeceased by her parents, brothers Aron and Peter, sisters Helen, Justina, Mary and Elizabeth, and a brother and sister in infancy. She is also predeceased by her 2 sisters-in-law, Helen and Irene and her brother-in-law, Henry Esau. Tiena leaves to mourn nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Glenwood in Agassiz for the excellent care they gave Tiena during her last 3 ½ months.

Celebration of Life Service to be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
