Praise God for His Mercy, Tina Sawatzky has gone home to be with Him. She passed away on September 9, 2006.
Tina was born to Jacob and Tina Sawatzky on July 21, 1936 at Old Barkfield, Manitoba.
She is survived by her brothers, Abe, Alfred (Mary), Henry (Esther), Frank and Peter (Carolyn) and her sister, Susie (Ernest) Birkholz; many nieces, nephews and their families; friends and all her brothers, sisters in the Lord.
Tina was predeceased by two brothers in infancy, a sister at one year, and a sister in 1971, her mother Tina in 1944, father Jacob in 1984 and step-mother, Agatha, in 2000.
Tina worked hard all her life at many jobs. She worked for 25 years at Fraser Valley Frosted Foods. Retiring to have her knees replaced.
After breast cancer and battling terminal cancer since May 2005, the Lord called her home.
Many thanks to Dr. Chow, Dr Schoff, the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit, Cindy Nichol, nurse Sandy at the Waverly and the nurses and staff at Eden.
Thank you to all who prayed for and supported her.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 1:00 pm from the German Church of God, 45814 Lewis Ave, Chilliwack, BC.
