Tina “Dena” Dyke, late of Chilliwack, passed away in Victoria, B.C. Sept. 3, 2006 at the age of 96. She was born Nov. 27, 1909 in Grenfell, Saskatchewan.
Dena was very active in the church and loved her family, spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours visiting the elderly at the hospital and at care homes. She also enjoyed sewing.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dean Andersen officiating. Interment in Chilliwack Cemeteries.
She is survived by her children: William (Pat) Dyke of Victoria; Shaaron (Ken) Hetland of Chilliwack; grandchildren: Gordon (Joan) Hetland, Gregory (Nora) Hetland, Russell (Kimberlee) Hetland, all of Chilliwack; Kim (Mike) Boyd of Victoria, Robert Dyke (Johanne Paquette) of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Duane, Jennifer, Jack and Olivia; brother, John (Laura) of Swift Current, Sask. and extended family in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick John Dyke, her first great-grandchild, Stephanie Melissa Hetland, 3 brothers, Oscar, Bill, Phillip and her sister, Edith.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Lift Fund or a charity of choice.
