Thomas Coulthard BAILLIE

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on January 20, 2003 at the Chilliwack General Hospital.

Tom was born on July 12, 1920 in Nanaimo and spent his early years in Ladysmith working in the logging industry. He served with 424 Bomber Squadron in North Africa and England. After the war he served with the RCAF Search and Rescue Squadron at Sea Island. Upon his discharge Tom became affiliated with the chain saw industry promoting the sale of all types throughout B.C. and Alberta.

After retirement, at the age of 69, he kept himself active doing various projects around the home and garden, and serving as a helpful neighbour.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy (O’Brien); sons, Brian (Margaret) of Glace Bay, N.S., and Brad, at home. Also survived by grandchildren, Peggy (Gerald), Sherry (Donnie), April (Mark), Tony, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Kandice, Connor, Anthony, Paul-Thomas, and Nathan. Also missed by brothers-in-law, John (Evelyn), and Alan (Norma); nephews, Rick (Mary-Anne), Alan (Cecile), and Kerri (Susan); nieces, Marlean (Guy), Geraldine (Gary), and Kathy (Gerry); as well as numerous grand-nephews and nieces. His family, friends and neighbours were his treasure.

By request there will be no services. Cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack. Interment will be at Ocean View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Lung Association would be appreciated.
