September 20, 1937 - October 10, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Arthur Rosamond announce his passing at the Waverly Seniors Village in Chilliwack, BC on October 10, 2022 at the age of 85.
Thomas was born in London, England on September 20, 1937 to parents Arthur Thomas and Doris Jessie Rosamond. With a spirit of courage and adventure he made the solitary move to Canada when he was 22. Settling in London, Ontario, he married Margaret Griffiths (divorced) and they had four children, Thomas, Kimberly, Dale, and Jessica.
Thomas was a skilled printer and later came to BC to open his own print shop, which he eventually closed due to a poor economy. He then became the manager of the printing department for Kwantlen University where he had a successful career and remained until he retired in 1997.
He loved nature and after retirement he bought a home nestled in the woods at the base of a mountain where he loved to sit outside with his dogs and a campfire and gaze at the stars. He enjoyed sharing this special retreat with his family. His children fondly remember his love of Christmas, the exciting game of "ghost" he used to play with us, and the many surprises he had for us, including the large iguana (Iggy) he brought home one day.
Fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He was always quick with his dry English humour and never failed to evoke a laugh in every situation, often at his own expense.
Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Doris. He is survived by his siblings Richard (Janet), Alan (Peggy), Dianne (Jim); his children Thomas (Kathy), Kimberly, Dale, and Jessica (Trevor); grandchildren Jacquelyn (Matthew), Gage, Eric, Caleb; and great granddaughter Evalyn.
To honour Thomas's wishes the family will hold a private memorial.
