Teunis (Ted) BOTH

Ted Both passed away peacefully in his 89th year early in the morning on December 17, 2004 at Chilliwack General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Ted was born on July 8, 1916 in Berkenwoude, The Netherlands. On May 19, 1942, he married Wilhelmiena Roos, and in June 1958, he immigrated to Canada with his family and settled in Chilliwack where he worked at a variety of jobs, and began farming. His dream was to own his own dairy farm one day, which became reality in the spring of 1969 when he and his wife bought a farm on Carey Road in Chilliwack. He was a hard working, caring, loving and dedicated husband, father and Opa and will be sadly missed.

Ted leaves behind to grieve his loving wife of 62 years Wilhelmiena, 4 children Gerda (Herman) Wilbrink, Ken (Marg) Both, Jenny (Henry) Jansen and Gary (Jane) Both, 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He is survived also by one sister, Adrianna and one Brother Wim (Klaasje) Both, numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Leendert, Jaap and Kees and his sister Anneke.

The family wishes to thank the Staff of Chilliwack General Hospital for the compassionate care and support given especially to Dad and Mom. Also special thanks to the paramedics, Drs. Hilliard, Young and Richmond for their excellent care for Dad. A special thank you to Reverend P. Van Ruitenburg for his visits, prayers and support. Special thanks the Roos families in Chilliwack for their love and care and also to the many long time friends who have supported Dad and Mom throughout their life and also for the tokens of love, concern and many prayers and comforting words we have all received, it was greatly appreciated.

An opportunity to meet the family and express condolences will be provided on Monday evening from 7:30 — 9:00pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home in Chilliwack.

The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday afternoon, 2 pm, at the Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church, 8920 Broadway Street.

Flowers are gratefully declined in favour of a charity of your choice.
