Terrance Edward (Ted) Ogilvie passed away Saturday, July 18th at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ted was born January 8th, 1941 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. One of Ted’s favourite claims to fame was that he had the same birth date as Elvis Presley. Ted moved to the Lower Mainland in the mid 60’s and worked as a mortgage broker for a number of years before moving out to Cultus Lake to full fill his dream of owning a pub. He built and successfully operated The Wrangler for many years then returned to the mortgage business. Back in the day, Ted was an accomplished racket ball player, single digit handicapper, card shark and a pool hustler. Ted is survived by a multitude of friends whom he considered all his extended family. Throughout the last few difficult years of his life, Ted showed great strength and tenacity. He was truly an inspiration to all around him for the manner in which he continued to care and give to others. There will a Celebration of Life held, Sunday, October 11th at Major League Pub in Sardis from 2:00 to 6:00. Please join us and hoist a glass of Bacardi and water in Ted’s honour.
