(Nov. 29, 1920 - April 8, 2008)
Joan was born in Biggar, SK, and is survived by her daughter, Lynn Douglas; her stepchildren: David MacPhail, and Diane Pomeroy; her grandchildren: Cara Douglas, Serena Douglas, and Franz Douglas and her great-grandchildren: Meka, Jazlynn, Bowden and Ryder.
Joan has participated in and volunteered her time generously to many organizations locally and came to know many people in the community. She was very socially, politically and environmentally conscious and gave what she could to support these causes.
Always quick with a smile and ready for a laugh, she will be missed by her family and her many very good friends.
The family is sincerely grateful to Dr. Laughlin MacIntosh and all the fifth-floor nursing staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care.
Also, many thanks to the ladies of the Sons of Scotland for their kindness ad assistance.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 30, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Chilliwack Senior’s Social Centre at Cook and Victoria.
