Stella Griffin

February 15, 1932 - April 18, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stella Griffin at the age of 93.

Stella's legacy as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother lives on through her daughters Pamela (Gordon) and Jane (Rick), son Stephen (Cheryl), cherished grandchildren Megan (Shelby), Morgan (Kate), Caitlin (Steve), Neal (Danielle), great grandchildren Jeremy, Aiden, Hope, Haven, Piper, Ryder, Colson, and Taylor, along with sister, Jean Goodman. She was well-loved by many friends, church members and neighbors in the Chilliwack community, her home for 56 years.

Stella was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Griffin (d. 2009), her parents Stella and James Best, and her sisters Pauline and Carole. She first met Patrick at a St. Patrick's Day dance in Doncaster, England in 1949, and they married in June 1952. They then immigrated to Canada in 1956, eventually settling in Chilliwack in 1969. Stella and her family were one of the first few new families of the Chilliwack Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stella was a dedicated volunteer and employee with the Girl Guides of Canada, having many happy memories of directing music at the Girl Guide camp at Bridal Falls. She had a long career as a pre-school teacher and was a partner in operating the playschool at CFB Chilliwack.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Cascade Hospice, the staff at The Lynnwood, Dr. Joel Krueger and Fraser Health for their caring support.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 6300 Tyson Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 3G8.
