Stella Ellen de Wit passed away peacefully on the morning of June 23. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Tony de Wit; sons Sean Cordeiro and Darren Cordeiro; daughter Sabrina Cordeiro; stepsons David (Shannon) and Michael de Wit (Natalie); grandchildren Olivia, Aiden, Grayson and Kinley de Wit; siblings Alex de Figueiredo (Chris), Doreen de Figueiredo, Evelyn da Silva (Cris; son: Warren), Brian de Figueiredo –deceased (Fatima; sons: Trevor, Kevin and Nigel) and friends.
Stella was born to Joachim and Ivy de Figueiredo in Nairiobi Kenya, on June 27, 1948. She immigrated to British Columbia with her husband Savio Cordeiro (deceased) where she raised her three beautiful children. She was a passionate educator and embraced life with a wonderful sense of humour. She spent her later years with her loving husband Tony and enjoyed her retirement travelling the world. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 8909 Mary St Chilliwack, BC at 10:00 a.m. on June 29 followed by the burial at their cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stella de Wit Memorial Scholarship Fund with the Chilliwack School District #33.
