Steve was born August 10th, 1925 in Downing, Alberta to John and Annie Melenko and passed away on April 26th, 2010 in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 84.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emily; his two sons, Lawrence (Louise) Melenko and Jerry (Helen) Melenko; three grandchildren: Lori (Kevin) Goodwin, Shane Melenko and Jason (Sara) Melenko; six great-grandchildren: Thomas, Andrew and Christina Goodwin; Ashley, Zachary and Tristin Melenko and numerous family members and friends.
Steve was employed by the CNR for 35 years until his retirement. He worked and lived in Blue River, BC, Cheam View, BC, Rosedale, BC and finally in Chilliwack, BC.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on May 5th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Catholic Church, 2607-27th Street, Vernon, BC. Burial to follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, BC.
Following the interment, a reception will be held in the tea room of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were made with Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack and with Pleasant Valley Funeral Home in Vernon, BC.
