Stanley Walker KEITH

Stanley Walker Keith, passed away Nov. 6, 2003, at his farm home in Dawson Creek, B.C. surrounded by his loved ones.

Stan was born in Chilliwack, B.C. on Sept. 9, 1926. He was the oldest son of the late Muriel and Jack Keith of Prairie Central Road, and grandson of Chilliwack pioneers Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. Keith and Mr. and Mrs. William B. Walker.

Stan’s love of farming came from a long line of dairy farmers.

Although he was born and raised in the Fraser Valley, he acquired a strong love for the Peace River country, and moved his family there in 1964,, where he remained until h is passing.

Stan was President of the Chilliwack Riding Club for many years; President of Peace River Dairymen’s Association; Director and life-time member of the Dawson Creek Fair Board. He was Clerk of Session at St. James Presbyterian Church in Dawson Creek for over 30 years.

Stan was a loving husband to Glenda; caring father to Wayne (Louise), Doug (Sindy), Hal (Pamela), Sharilyn (Phil) Hunter, and Shauna; beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren; brother to Bob (lorna) of Mt. Lehman, Gordon (Helen) of Lac La Hache, and Margaret (Joe) Ward of Abbotsford; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Stan’s unwavering concern for others, even when facing his own mortality, has touched many people deeply. The determination and persistence he showed throughout his life when he faced adversity, is a testament to his faith.

Funeral Service was held Nov. 12, 2003 at St. James Presbyterian Church in Dawson Creek.
