Sophie Reich passed away into the presence of her Lord on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the young age of 90 years. She was born in Bently, North Dakota on July 26, 1917.
She had lived in the area since 1946, when they moved from Medicine Hat , Alberta.
Sophie, with her husband Art, owned the Mt. Cheam Motel in Rosedale for a few years. In recent years she resided at Lynwood Senior Home on Corbould St.
She will be sadly missed by her family who brought her many years of enjoyment . They are: sons Doug and his wife Isobel of Chilliwack; Terry and his wife Sharon, of Chilliwack; Bob and his wife Darlene of Cranbrook; 11 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Her sister Martha Cooper, and husband Don, of Burnaby, also nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Sophie Baum, her two sisters and four brothers, daughter-in-law Merla, in 1981, son James in 1999 and her husband Art in 1997.
A visitation will be held on Friday March 14 from 7:00-9:00 from Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave. Chilliwack.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
Burial will take place at the Chilliwack Cemeteries. The casketbearers will be her two sons, Terry and Bob, grandsons David and Eric, and great-grandsons Alex and Curtis, all are Reich.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society, or the B.C. Heart Foundation.
