(Siggie)

(Sept. 29, 1927 - April 3, 2009)

Siggie passed away on April 3, 2009 in his 82nd year. He was born in Melville, Saskatchewan to Henry and Dorothea Dietz. He grew up in Melville where he both farmed and worked as an auto mechanic.

In 1950 Siggie married Adeline Uhll. They had three children. In 1966 the family moved to Chilliwack, B.C. where Siggie worked again as an auto mechanic. Soon thereafter he opened his own garage “Siggie’s Shell Service” in Sardis. Through this business he developed many friendships.

Siggie and Addie owned and managed several apartment buildings in Chilliwack. They also enjoyed their association and friendships at Christ Lutheran Church.

Siggie is survived by his children: Nancy and Sandy Gauthier; Bev and Erik Hutton; and Randy Dietz; grandchildren: Mitchell and Graham Hutton; Maranda White and Sam Dietz; and great grandchildren: Aiden and Olivia White.

He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Margaret, Trudy, Ruth, Henry, Art, Karl and Paul, all of Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Siggie was predeceased by his wife Adeline in 1983.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Waverly Seniors Village for their kindness and loving care with special thank you to Debbie Davidson.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home with a reception to follow.
