Born January 1, 1955 in Tofino B.C. Shirleyanne (Shirl) passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and her ever watchful, caring pets. Shirl will be sadly missed by her husband and best friend Dan, sons Shaun and Taylor, Father Frank and brothers Ron and Rick.
Shirl is predeceased by her mother Tess and brother Bob.
After moving to Chilliwack in 1960, Shirleyanne worked with her mother Tess in the restaurant, catering business where she crafted exceptional cooking skills and a strong aptitude for being a “care-giver”.
In her teens and early 20’s, Shirl traveled extensively across Canada and the US and married Dan Miller June 24, 1978. After their marriage Shirl and Dan moved to Alberta where they gave birth to her sons Shaun and Taylor. The family later returned to Chilliwack.
After many years of motherhood Shirl courageously returned to school to pursue accreditation in the area of extended care for the elderly. Shirl graduated with honors as a certified care aid attendant in 2002, however due to her illness Shirl was unable to further pursue her aspirations in this area.
For her family Shirl was the consummate matriarch who never missed the opportunity to exploit special occasions and the opportunity to “spoil” those who where near and loved. To her friends she was a tireless supporter that never hesitated to provide compassion, understanding and unlimited loyalty.
“Shirl”, “Squirrel”, “Tuni” our lives will never be the same without you but you will always be cherished and remembered in our hearts until we meet again.
A memorial service if any, will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice.
