It is with deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Shirley Rose Doolan of Chilliwack, born in Vancouver to Elmore and Rose Ayers. She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Brian, who was her constant companion and best friend, her sons Jeff (Laura) and Steve (Carolyn), grandchildren Taylor Doolan (Aynsleah) and Katey Sarrazin (Dom), and great grandchildren Theo, Sebastien, and Audrey. Also left to mourn are siblings Bette Jean Ayers (Al) and Howard Ayers (Ida), and extended family Collette Burke, David Herman, and sons Sean, Adam, Daniel and Michael.
Shirley had a wonderful twenty five year career with Canada Manpower and was admired and respected by her colleagues. She had a gift for helping others and was well suited for the position. She was a great listener and a kind, generous, and accepting person.
She enjoyed travel and spent many winters in Palm Desert. She was an exceptional cook, baker and gardener. Many family memories were created at the Mt. Baker campsite with bonfires, horseshoes and marshmallow roasts.
Shirley was a blessing to all who knew her and will be missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers please donate to The Salvation Army Chilliwack.
