Shirley Marie MACKIE

Shirley Marie Mackie (nee Dawson) died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 in Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 70 years.

She had bravely fought a long and courageous 12-year battle with cancer.

Shirley leaves to grieve, her loving family, husband of 48 years Murray; sons: Ian (Debbie) of Brandon Manitoba, Bryan (Cheryl) and Dean of Chilliwack; grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Michael, Cassandra, and Allyn.

She was predeceased by both parents — her mother Edina Daisy Dawson only nine weeks previously.

Shirley lived her life to the fullest, devoted to her husband and family, she was foremost a homemaker. As time allowed, she pursued her many interests such as photography, cross-stitch, bridge, cooking, bowling, and wine-making — the latter something she loved to do with Murray.

The family requests no flowers, but welcome donations to the BC Breast Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 12th 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C.
